We are committed to helping clients find answers and solutions to management problems. We have a range of educational workshops and resource tools specifically designed to meet the challenges faced by your organization. Our educational programs include:

• Customer Service Education
  Community Care, Long term care and Retirement Residences have realized the value in a hospitality approach to care provision and resolution of concerns. Topics can be tailored to your needs and may include: the principles of customer service, active listening, building relationships, use of life history, complaint resolution and problem solving.
  
  
• GentleCare
  We have assisted numerous homes to implement the Gentlecare model, our approach is interdisciplinary. Both our workshops and educational modules are effective ways for staff to learn and apply the concepts to daily practice.
  
  
• Workplace Wellness
  Workplace wellness programs have been proven to reduce absenteeism, increase productivity and improve staff morale and loyalty. Specialty Health Consulting can tailor an exciting low cost program specific to the needs of front line staff in community care, long term care or retirement residences. It can also be extended to residents, families and volunteers.
  
  
• New Staff orientation program
  A good orientation for new staff is essential and long term care facilities benefit from the range of education we offer including mandatory education topics, a one day general staff orientation or a several day "Jumpstart "orientation program that meets Ontario MOHLTC requirements for new homes.
  
  
• Occupational Health and Safety Education
  Non compliance with Occupational Health and Safety issues can increase your financial and legal risk. A strong program begins with staff education and an active Occupational Health and Safety Committee. A resource manual and staff education program is available to: develop or strengthen the effectiveness of your Occupational Health and Safety committee, improve your ability to consistently meet all legislative requirements, and to prepare for successful Workwell audits.
  
  
• Pre-occupancy Project Plan for new facilities
  Wouldn't it be nice to have a master check list of everything you need to do to build a new Long Term Care residence. Through our partnership with Specialty Care, we have fine-tuned this Project plan after building or opening ten new LTC homes in the last 3 years. Our consultants can work through this plan with you sharing valuable tips along the way.
